The Swan Lily

In a lot of ancient mythology, animals and flowers are quite interlinked; often embodying similar symbolic meaning . . . Or even directly changing into one another

There was also a belief that this symbiosis was the reason why certain birds only appear in spring or summer. It is not because of migration patters - but, rather, because the birds are essentially like blossom. And only bloom in certain seasons

Of course, we know this to be pretty unscientific these days. But i love the poetic magic in such a thought. That perhaps these flowers really are swans in bloom

And that, one of these days, they will simply wake up and fly away.
